A Few Things That Make Me Say ::HOLY CRAP::
- The woman at Walmart in the cut off shorts and mullet.
- A recipe for Meatloaf that called for crushed Cheez-It's.
- My cat when he jumps from the floor to the top of the Fridge.
- The way some 13 year olds dress.
- The pile of laundry in my bedroom, hallway, laundry basket and laundry room floor.
- The amount of junk mail in my mailbox.
- The price of 'cheap' furniture.
- The speediness in which some women have kids. I don't think some women wait that recovery 6 weeks to have the humpity humpity again.
- The drunk driving skills of my neighbor.
- The amount of carbs some people can eat and never get fat

"The Runs"
This is totally random but when I saw Squid running around the house frantically it jogged a memory.
When I was young we had a cat named Lucy. She was wacky. She would run around the house in a frantic manner just like Squid was earlier. I thought when someone had 'the runs' it would be like when the cat ran around. So I was terrified of 'the runs'.

Superstitious? Yep.
I am very superstitious. I bawled the day we signed for our life insurance. I feel like it's a bad omen. Yes, I understand it is necessary but It freaks me out. When Steven walks out the door I say "love you, be careful, have fun." He could be in the truck pulling out of the drive way but I say it every time no matter what. I go with my gut. If I have a bad feeling we do not ignore my gut!
THE GUT GETS THE FINAL SAY EVERY TIME.
So why this sudden blogging of my eccentric behavior...? Because we passed on a 4 day trip this weekend to San Diego due to flying on 9/11. We would have to be on a plane that day. HELLO!!! That is just bad carama! We are rescheduling for October. Sea world will still be awesome in October...right?

Subtle Rudeness
Has anyone ever been rude to you in a subtle manner? Has anyone said something extremely rude to you in a fake happy tone which left you hurt and confused for hours after the fact?
I have been a victim of this cruelty and I refuse to take it anymore. So this is to all of you that feel the need to belittle for your benefit....YOU NO LONGER EFFECT ME!
Delete me from your phone, email, MSN, and life. I should have deleted you long ago. I don't know why it took me this long to get rid of you. Better late than never right. RIGHT! I feel great knowing my life no longer contains you.
I challenge everyone who reads this blog to apply this to their life. I promise you will feel amazing afterward.

My Challenge Just Got More Challenging.

I am going to try and do nothing but portraits of people starting Monday for my 365 day challenge. I am going to do it for the whole week. It should be kinda fun. Let me know if you want to be one of my portraits. It would be nice to have some volunteers. :)

Tax Time

Tax time is stressful, exciting, and mysterious. Mr. R and I never know what we are going to end up with at this time of the year. The first year we were married we had to pay. If you have ever had to pay taxes when everyone else is getting HUGE returns you know how crappy it feels to dish out MORE money. So this year (and last) we got a return. I almost pee'd my pants when I saw that the numbers were not in red on our tax summary sheet. So what are we going to do with our return?
1- Savings (most of it)
2- Pay off the car (so excited!)
3- 20g shotgun (it is soooo sexy)
4- Paula Deen pots and pans!
Want to see?

I can't wait to have non-stick pans again. I have copper pans, silver pans (thanks mom but I need a few non-stick items)
What are you doing with your return? Did you have to pay? Do you have a horrific tax story you want to share?

Post Secret
I have posted about this site a few times in the past but I can't help but post a few that I enjoyed today.

This makes me laugh because I was looking at an xray the other day and saw this. I wanted to say something but I resisted.

This made me sad for whoever this is. What makes me sadder is that schools are cutting down the nurses they have. One nurse per district or one nurse per 7 schools is ridiculous. One nurse cannot be there for all of the kids that may need them. I hope this changes but unfortunately it wont.

Trying on something new
Have you ever couple dated? If you go out with new couples with your spouse then you definitely have couple dated. Last night we ventured out on a couples date. It was with Steven's friend from high school Stacie and her hubs. It was the most fun we have had out with another couple in a long time. (D-bo and Tawnasty...YOU HAVE COMPETITION)
It was a blast. Steven got along with Brandon and Stacie and so did I. It is so hard to find a couple that we both enjoy hanging out with. A couple where both people are fun. Have you ever had a one person cool couple? That is when only one person is fun and the other is a total dud which in turn makes either you or your spouse a dud as well because you don't have someone to talk to. Need a better example? Say your hubby and the other hubby can hand really well but you and the other wife have NOTHING in common. When you go home and ask your spouse if you had a good time you say eh she was kinda lame...Well guess what they are saying in their car on the way home....? SAME THING! So then you get labeled THE LAME ONE. Couple dating is hard work. Thankfully we have a handful of really great friends we mingle well with. Stacie and Brandon....welcome to the club!
So here is what went down....I got my hair done! Stacie rocks! I love it. Then off to din din and then we hung out with cards and really awesome ice cream. YUM! We didn't get home till around 2. Who knew we could even stay out that late....
Have you had a terrible or fantastic couple date?

Mexico Getaway

Congrats Mom and Dad! My mom was in a meeting in Sandy Tuesday and because she rocks as a manager she won/earned a trip to Mexico for 2! They have never done anything like this! I cried after I got off the phone because of all the people to deserve this it is them. They have always given us kids everything we need/want. This time they get to spoil themselves. I love you guys! xoxoxo

Randomness
I like random useless knowledge. Enjoy!
An average adult produces about half a liter of flatulent gas per day, resulting in an average of about fourteen occurrences of flatulence a day.
Some people drink the urine of pregnant women to build up their immune system.
A lifespan of an eyelash is approximately 150 days.
In Japan, the number four is considered to be unlucky because the Japanese word for four sounds very similar to the word death.
Being unmarried can shorten a man's life by ten years.
A language becomes extinct in this world every two weeks.
The murder rate in the United States is about four times greater than in Japan. In Japan, no private citizen can buy a handgun legally.
Of married couples, 70% of men and 60% of women have cheated on their spouse.
Many of the sweaters worn by Mr. Rogers on the popular television show, Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood, were actually knitted by his real mother.
The stage were the television sitcom "Friends" is shot on is said to be haunted.
Did you enjoy those as much as I did?? Phew good times eh?

Coyote's
Coyotes are extremely loyal to their mates. If one is caught in a trap, the other will bring small game for it to eat; it will soak itself in a river to allow its thirsty mate to chew on its damp fur for water. It has been documented that the free coyote will stay with its captive partner until death.
Are you this loyal to your mate?

5 Finger Discount

I saw someone stealing from the dollar store today. I was intrigued so I continued to watch and slyly followed their tracks. As they kept stealing I wondered how easy they made it look. I couldn't help but think about all the things they had stolen to this point in their life. Was this their first time? What kind of things do they have at home? A bunch of junk or do they have quality items? As I followed and pondered I didn't notice the police coming down the isle. Yep, that's right. My clepto friend was not as stealth as I thought. They were taken away and now their life will never be the same, all for a few dollar items at the neighborhood Honk's Dollar Store.
My choice not to steal was backed up today as I witnessed this act of stupidity.

Thrusday's Thoughts
She says we've got to hold on to what we've got
cause it doesn't make a difference
If we make it or not
Weve got each other and that's a lot
For love - well give it a shot
Whooah, were half way there
Livin' on a prayer
Take my hand and well make it - I swear
Livin' on a prayer
Last night we played rock band with 2 awesome friends. We ate burgers, roasted mallows in the backyard, and rocked HARD. It was an overload of fun. One of my favorite songs on Rock Band 2 is Bon Jovi's Livin' On a Prayer. If you read the lyrics I posted you can probably apply it to yourself as well. Steven and I have come onto hard times before in our marriage (nothing alarming or scary but still hard). Things have been tight and stress levels have been high. When we get discouraged by life I remind Steven (and myself) that we can make anywhere home, that no matter what love endures all things. We have been so blessed during our marriage. We have had some amazing trials that have helped us grow into the awesome people we are now.
Do you have a song that helps you through the tough times? Or one that motivates you?
