Christmas 2010: The Loot

We didn't take many pictures. It's my fault. I forgot my camera was in my purse so instead of looking there I looked other places and couldn't find it. :(

Steven and I have so much fun when we open Christmas. We save all year for this day! Christmas is way more special to us than our anniversary. Weird I know but that is just the way we are.

Squid got a fort. I got a TV! Steven got a kick ass four wheeling helmet and golf club! Oh and those sexy jeans compliments of the Radical Steve-o.

Have you ever had an exciting secret that was SOOOO hard to keep. I do. . . .

Christmas Tree

When I was growing up our family would load up and drive (what felt like forever but I'm sure it was less than a hour drive) to a Ma and Pa tree farm. We would run around for hours until we found the perfect tree. Dad would cut it down and tie it on top of the 'Yellow Submarine' <--a yellow Volvo station wagon.

I loved the smell of the fresh tree. It would make the whole house smell like pine. Now I have a pine scented candle to create that illusion. It is not the same.

I remember the cats would drink the water out of the water pan/tree kickstand.

Now we have a fake pre-lit tree. I have sold out for ease of work.

Hopefully when we have kids we will chop a tree down for them. At least a small tree so they can experience the awesomeness of picking out a tree.

Nativity::The Start of My Collections

I have wanted a nativity for a while. I never buy one because they are so expensive but last night my Mother-In-Law gave me a cute nativity that she made herself. Now that I have a cute nativity I kinda want to collect nativities. Some people collect snowmen and other santa's. I like to collect Willow Tree angel ornaments but I may have found another thing to collect!!! We'll see eh???

I love all things Christmas!

Temple Square

First off I just want to say congrats to Melissa! I know how much she wanted this baby!! I hope your 9 months are amazing and exciting!

So last night we went to Temple Square with my Brother and his cute little estrogen filled family. Sorry Josh! I really hope the next one is a boy for your sake!!! ;)

If you are around the SLC area you know that we were in a giant cloud. The fog was so bad we couldn't even see our neighbors out the back door. The fog made for a beautiful night at Temple Square with the lights and temple. Our camera died after only one picture so here are the only two pictures I have of the night.

I am so bummed I didn't get any pictures of Savy or Mae Mae. The girls were so cute! Mae was bundled up in blankies and Savy was in her 'rainbow bright' jam jams.

So as I said here are the only two pictures I have. . . . Poor quality...yes...but it was done with my iPhone.

22 Days!!!

Steven and I save all year to spoil each other at Christmas and even though we save all year we still sneak and go over budget. It is ridiculous but this is what we wait for all year. I can't wait for him to open his presents Christmas morning. He will be so excited. I could just sit and watch him have Christmas and never get one single gift. It is so fun!!
I hope to go to the Temple to see the lights soon. We have gone every single year since we have been together.

What is your favorite holiday tradition?

Snow!

My favorite Christmas movie is White Christmas. I would watch it on my grandma's lap every Thanksgiving and then every day till New Years. Excessive I know but I LOVE THIS MOVIE. I had a crush on Bing Crosby. I thought he was a stud. Weird? Yes.  My favorite song from the movie is 'Snow'. It is when they are on the train on the way to Vermont with the 'sisters'.
Gets you in the mood for Christmas doesn't it? This is digging a little deep but maybe their deep need and search for snow in Vermont to save the Inn was where my deep love for the snow came from???

What is your favorite memory as a kid during the holiday's? Make a post about it and link me to it. Leave a comment too of course. I love to hear about others traditions.

Squids Christmas Wish List

An outdoor enclosed play pen for trips outside in the back yard.

A Kitty Tree House!

I think Santa might be okay with the Play pen but I am not sure if the tree house would fit in his sled. . .
