Hunting

Not the kind of hunting you are thinking. This is of the retail sort. Nothing against hunting-I enjoy going with my hubby in the fall but this is my kind of hunting. I am a hunting machine when I get a great idea for the house. So here are some of my ideas. 

I am hunting for these. I have some great ideas for some old windows and frames. Both inside my casa and out. 

Something else I am so wishing I could change...I really hate vinyl fences. We have vinyl. Not by choice but we are stuck with it. I wish we could do a wood fence. I love how the wood ages over time. I love that you can nail things to the fence. I love how sturdy wood is. 

Vinyl cracks and breaks all the time. It freezes in the winter and makes big gashes when it is hit. 

So next time....if there is a next time, we will have a wood fence. Vinyl has zero personality.

Remember this pillow?

This is what it turned into today. A little hot glue and safety pins made it beautiful. I only used  pins so I could change it out as I felt the need.

This dresser was given to me by my Gma Janet. When Steven and I were first married we re-finished it. New hardware, new stain. I think it looks amazing.

Witch Balls

Witch Balls are free blown glass spheres, with 3 to 5 strands inside for collecting evil spirts and the like. Each one is unique with color, strands, bubbles, and size. The size is about that of a grape fruit. Witch's Balls were very popular in 18th century England, but their actual origin is thought to be much older. For well over 300 years hollow glass spheres have been hung in windows to ward off witch's spells, evil spirits and ill fortune. Hanging these decorative balls in the window is thought to tantalize evil spirits which may be threatening a home's tranquility. The evil spirit is mesmerized by the ball's reflective beauty. When the spirit touches the sphere it is absorbed and trapped in the web-like strands of the glass inside the ball. 

I bought these balls in St. George. I love them! I want more so I can scatter them in the back yard. Maybe even hang them in the dining room window...?

Big Bedroom Dreams

And these curtains from Ikea which have been sold out for 2 months. (if you see them pick up two packages and I will pay for them and your gas for that trip-NOT EVEN KIDDING). :)

Remember This?

Remember this horrible (click on link) mess? I do, It was a nightmare I had to stare at everyday. Saturday Mr. Rad and I cleared it out. Stiff muscles and a few encounters with the biggest spiders I have ever seen later and BOOM!

It looks amazing doesn't it?


P.S. Yes the fountain works I just didn't turn it on. Sorry.

Rugs!

I love accent rugs. It is a burst of artwork for your floor. This rug is in my master bath.  I love it. I am actually getting the larger one for right here in front of the sink and put this smaller one in front of the shower. It's not super 'old lady' to have matching bath rugs in the same bath is it? I think it will turn out great! 

This rug is hanging out in my front entry way. I will be painting the door the same dark color that is in the rug. What do you think? I love the retro look. Steven and I absolutely love all things retro! 

I can't wait to pull colors out of these rugs to paint my walls. It will be so much fun! I can't wait!

Cleaning Day!

What am I doing? Cleaning! Yeah it really isn't all that fun. . . I have 16 & Pregnant on in the background and tater tots in the oven. I just want to start painting SO bad. Here are my painting plans: (click on the links for details)
1- Gray for the main house color and our bedroom and master bath.
2- Teal for the wall above the stairs and the wall around the back door.
3- The kitchen is already green.
4- The office will be blue and white....I think....?
