My Happy Moment

Everyone should have at least one happy moment a day. A moment when they are most themselves with their fave activity, music in the ipod, or just your happy thoughts. My happy moment today was out in my yard. I put Squid in his play pen and planted 24 beautiful pansies around the budding bulbs in my flower beds. Normally I would drown out the sounds of life with The Ataris, Taking Back Sunday, or Lilly Allen (yes my top 3 at the moment-don't judge), but today I listened to Squid meow at blowing leaves and the wind. It was amazing. It was my moment. I was in the dirt making my life a little more beautiful with 1.5 have my fave people in attendance and one on my mind. I had Squid and my baby safely tucked inside of me enjoying the weather and awesomeness of the day. On my mind I was thinking about my amazing husband. The one who has sacrificed so much for the things we have. The only one that could give me my beautiful family. He said yes (reluctantly) to adding Squid to our twosome and he has given both of us #4. Our lima bean! 

So this was my happy moment. I was lost in beautification, nature, Squid, baby, and Steven.

Happy Birthday Squid

My little man is now a year old! I can't believe it. I remember going to pick him up. I had the laundry basket lined with blankets and a towel for the trip. I didn't know how else to transport the little guy.

So I get there to pick out a kitten and all the kittens are running around chasing each other. They were all SO cute! Squid came up to me! He tried to walk on my feet. I think he picked me!

I brought him home in the laundry basket! He talked the whole time and stuck his little paw out the slants. He was adorable!

Steven and I thought he was a girl! So we named him Cricket. He was Cricket for a whole week before we realized he had man part! Oops! Sorry Squid. We still love you and hope we didn't mess you up too bad!

So now he is the biggest cat out of the bunch he came from! He jumps on the fridge, sleeps on top of the cabinets in the laundry room, plays with straws and teases the dogs next door from the window.

So happy birthday Squid. I hope this next year is as good to you as the first one was. We think you are pretty fantastic!

Wednesday With Squid: Snuggling the Baby

This crazy gato loves to snuggle against the baby. I wonder if he can hear it in there? Cats have super sonic hearing so maybe he can...? Maybe he senses it? Maybe he loves it because he can tell Steven and I love it. . . ?

My Lemur...

Do you see the resemblance? I do! I call him Lemur Kitty because his tail is always up like a Lemur. It's adorable. Plus he has a wild side to him. He jumps on everything! So what do you think? Distant relatives?

"The Runs"

This is totally random but when I saw Squid running around the house frantically it jogged a memory. 

When I was young we had a cat named Lucy. She was wacky. She would run around the house in a frantic manner just like Squid was earlier. I thought when someone had 'the runs' it would be like when the cat ran around. So I was terrified of 'the runs'.

Totally ridiculous eh?

Wednesday With Squid: WTF?

I have no idea what possessed him into sitting like this but he was totally p'd off when I woke him up to take the picture. Can you see his bug eyes??? What the heck is up with that!?!?!

Wednesday With Squid: Late Entry

I was making dinner and he was anxiously waiting for me to turn around and leave the food unattended. I could see his evil plan brewing so I watched him carefully. He saw there anxious the WHOLE time. 

Other than the look of total mischief on his face he is a total stud sitting there isn't he?

Post Op With Squidrow

My little guy can't get comfortable. He goes from my lap to his tent back to my lap again. When he walks he limps. So sad. 

Wednesday With Squid: Squid Is Home!!!!

He is home and doing well. I had no idea they kept the testicles and just tied them in a knot. So he has shaved testicles, he's a little embarrassed so don't stare. His paws, as you can see, are swollen and bloody. He has slept since he got home. He takes his pain medication well without any issues. 

So at the vet after we dropped him off he had to be sedated. He ripped a girl to shreds when she tried to comfort him prior to the surgery. After the surgery when he was groggy he would growl at the vet techs when they walked by. He took his bandages off himself and wouldn't let anyone touch him. I get there this morning and he is hissing and growling. They ask me to walk back there to get him so they don't have to touch him and the second he see's me he starts purring and rubbing against the cage. He meowed his head off till I picked him up and then tucked his head under my chin and wouldn't move. The Vet and the Vet Techs couldn't believe that he was the same cat they had been dealing with all day. 

He loves his mommy. :)

Wednesdays With Squid

Squid is my huge 6 month old kitten. He and I are total BFF's and he follows me around all day long. He enjoys doing laundry-as you can see, a little too much. He could be in a dead sleep across the house and hear me open the dryer and be there in no time. He'll be climbing in and before I know It he is buried. Today he jumped in the washer while it was filling. He flew out of it, turned around, looked at the washer and hissed then stomped off. I was laughing so hard I forgot to put the soap in the washer. I had to rewash everything once I realized.

My silly Squidrow. I enjoy my days with Squid. He makes what would have been a boring day waiting for Steven to get home an exciting and comical day.
