Day 3

Maybe I am just having a bad hair day, I don't know. My hair was flat and frizzy today. :(

We'll see how day 4 goes.

Day 2: Flat Flat Flat

So less does less frizz mean you get stuck with flat hair? This is day 2 with my Garnier Blow Dry stff. I think my hair has way less volume than normal but it really is frizz free. Not sure what to think yet. P.S. don't judge my non made up face. It was my day off :(

Quilt Sneak Peak

(It looks orange-ish yellow because of our nasty tan walls that we still need to paint)

Buzz: Garnier Blow Dry Perfector--Day 1

I am a Buzz Agent. What that means is I get to try stuff out and write review on it (for free). Right now I am testing out Garnier Blow Dry Perfector. I really don't like this product so far. So what you do is you wash your hair-no conditioner. Put the skinky serum in your hair for 20 minutes (smells worse than a perm). Rinse out the serum but on a heat protector (this smells good) and then style your hair as normal. So far all I notice is the lingering perm-ish smell. My hair does not seem any different but this product is suppose to de-frizz your hair for 7 days.

So Day 1 review: horrible chemical smell that lingers but less fly away hair.

Five years ago today I was in a hotel room with my future sister-in-law and friend Jamie and it was the night before my wedding! I was barely 19 and he was 23. We were made for each other. We are frealishly the same and yet different enough to be the most compatible possible. We have come a long way in five years, literally. Midvale, South Jordan, Provo, South Jordan (again), and Riverton. It has been an amazing ride. We hear from other married couples about their 'nightmare' year and how they almost called it quits. I have also heard that once you make it to your 5th anniversary you can pretty much handle the whole marriage thing. Year one was fun and scary. We got married and had $0 monies. We had a $500 dollar a month rent that we had no idea how we would pay, but always seemed to make it. We were poor students going to SLCC and have an amazing time. We went to the midnight release of In Love and Death and saw Kris Roe at the mall (random). We stayed up late doing what married people do (wink wink) and then stayed up even later to fall asleep talking in each others arms.

I thought life couldn't get any better than that. I was wrong.

Year two was full of late nights still (something we have yet to let dwindle). Except year two had more responsibility. We supported each other through school prerequisites and crappy jobs that we hated. We had a plan and support, love, and a common goal was what created an even tighter bond. A bond I had no idea could get tighter. I thought we had maxed out on love and support but I was wrong. It gets stronger ever single day. Even today I feel closer to my wonderful husband than I did yesterday.

Year three and four were spent in Provo finishing both our schooling. We lived in a tiny shack of a duplex. It was horrible but we made it home and it was worth every second of it. Steven supported both of us while I went to school. He never complained but I know he was holding in worries and fears of not making it financially and the stress of school was getting to both of us, but our love never felt the strain. If anything the stress of life and adulthood just made our love stronger.

We are now in our dream home working in our career fields that we fought so hard to get.

I love him and he loves me. We are freaks. I want to spend every second with him and vise versa. We love our time together. We are total hermits but that makes us happy. We work in the yard together, stay up late (wink wink), and laugh. We laugh all the time.
I have my Prince Charming. I am living the fairy tale all us girls dreamed about. I am blessed and I know it. I never take him for granted. I tell him every day how much he means to me and I reflect on the promises I made to him constantly.

I am in love and I am loved.

A lot happens in five years. I can't wait to see what the next five are going to bring. :)

The One Good Thing

The one good thing about fall being in the air (no kidding. I felt it on my deck last night. I had to get a sweater) is this jacket in green and white. Yeah I bought two of them. This is seriously the only good thing about Summer ending. I will look uber cute in these jackets and I will be nice and warm. I heart Black Diamond - They keep me warm in the winter.

P.S. this is a picture of a North Face jacket but it looks the same as the one I bought. I couldn't find a picture of my green or white one. :(

Quick No Recipe Meals

BBQ Chicken

Put frozen chicken in the crock pot with bbq sauce and some water. Let cook all day. Eat over rice, potatoes, on bread or alone with a side salad. You can use any kind of meat! Try it!

Salad

Grab some lettuce wash it and pull it apart into bite size pieces. Open your vegetable drawer and chop up some cucumbers, onions, carrots, radishes...You get the idea. I like to throw feta cheese on mine with a Ranch and Italian dressing mix.

Fruit Salad

Cut up some kiwi, honey dew, cantaloupe, strawberries, apples....Again, use what you have. Mix together as is or add some cool whip. YUM!

Kiwi Salsa

Try it! It's delish!

Kiwi Salsa

  • 6 kiwis, peeled and diced
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 jalapeno pepper, diced
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon curry powder
Mix kiwi, onion, jalapeno pepper, lime juice, olive oil, honey, cumin, and curry powder together in bowl. Cover and allow to rest for 1 hour at room temperature. Refrigerate until ready to serve.

Growing Up: Kitty Style

I can't believe how much he has changed! I still love him just as much as when he was a cute awkward kitten. Ahhh the memories.

Big Bedroom Dreams

I want this wall color.

With this bed frame.

And these curtains from Ikea which have been sold out for 2 months. (if you see them pick up two packages and I will pay for them and your gas for that trip-NOT EVEN KIDDING). :)

Any suggestions to make it even more fantastic?
