Double Invite

Do you know what the double invite is? I know it all too well unfortunately. It is when you invite people to hang out and then they invite people as well. They usually invite people you don't know at all or maybe you do know them but didn't want them to come. It is a sticky situation. It can be awkward and sometimes gets feisty.


I admit this is the biggest pet peeve I have. I think it is rude. I bring this up because one of our friends was a victim of the double invite and it ruined their friendship. I personally think it is disrespectful. Are the initial invitees not good enough that they need to bring a posy with them? If that is the case then don't bother going at all. Make and excuse not to show up and save everyone from this uncomfortable situation.

So have you ever been guilty of the double invite? Have you ever been plagued with this situation? What was it like? Did you ruffle feathers or even ruin a friendship? Do you think this is totally acceptable or is it uncalled for?

Snowed In

Due to all of the storms we are having Steven and I decided to stay with Connie and Gereld this week. We were planning on coming out here Christmas Eve but because of all the storms we are here early. Steven's 30 minute drive turns into 2 hours when the storms are bad so instead of risking accidents and all the terrible weather we are here enjoying the family.

I know there are a lot of people out there hating the snow right now but I love it. It finally feels like Christmas when there is snow on the ground and Christmas lights everywhere. I love this time of the year. I am totally content being snowed in for the holidays. I hope you all find time to enjoy and appreciate the beauty of the snow.

Wednesday Wish List

So Amazon.com has a option to create a wish list (kind of like a registry) in your account. I decided I would do this so when the next set of gift giving holidays come around I can print it out and give Steven some better ideas. I was terrible this year. Usually I have a few items I really want but this year I didn't really have a wish list that I could tell him so he is shopping blind this holiday. He always does great so I am not worried one bit.

I was thinking it would be fun to post a wish list item every Wednesday so I could maybe get some reviews or opinions on the items.

I love 30 minute meals. Rachael Ray is annoying but she can cook up some wonderful meals. I have tried a lot of them and have added my own twists to make them even better (in my opinion). If you have ever seen her show you might have noticed her fun cook wear. I love the pots and pans. Right now I have copper pans and I hate them. I miss my non-stick stuff. As soon as I can I will be replacing them with this set. Let me know what you think about this product or others like it.



If any of you know me at all you know green is my favorite color so that adds to the love of these pots. :)

Friends

I wanted to brag about my friend Stephanie. She rocks! I can be boldly honest with her and she is the same with me. We tell each other everything without worrying about judgments. She is the greatest. I went shopping with Steph and Britny (yes I spelled that right) today. We were at the mall from 1-7 and it flew by. We had so much fun. They are the best gal pals ever. It has been over a year since my last mall adventure where we wandered from store to store and lingered for hours trying things on. We talked about nothing and everything. It felt so good to be with two amazing friends.

P.S. I bought the most amazing perfume and little black dress.

Christmas Shopping

I am almost done shopping. I have everything for Steven and all I have left is my Grandma and Grandpa and Steven's dad. When I shop I try to make gifts meaningful. I try really hard not to buy the pre-made Walmart gifts that they put out after Thanksgiving. I like to put things together that the person I am shopping for will love and will know I really put thought and care into what I am getting them. I wish I could put a list up of what I have bought for everyone but that would spoil the surprise. I will say that Josh and Veronica, I got you something you will enjoy and have fun with, it may be simple but I know you will put it to use and have fun. Steven's gifts are all things he needed but also wanted. This is a hard combination to put together. With help from Mad Max and my friends boyfriend Aaron, this Christmas just might be the best one yet. Dad's gift has to do with how quirky and weird he can be, so I know he will LOVE it. I hope the rest of you are having fun shopping and enjoy it. Christmas shopping can be often confused as a chore but when so much thought and love is put into it shopping can be the funnest part of the gifting process.

I can't wait to see Steven's face when he opens his presents. He is going to be floored! I hope you all have a great experience and you have a wonderful time with your loved ones.

COUCH TO 5K CHALLENGE

Mexico Getaway

Congrats Mom and Dad! My mom was in a meeting in Sandy Tuesday and because she rocks as a manager she won/earned a trip to Mexico for 2! They have never done anything like this! I cried after I got off the phone because of all the people to deserve this it is them. They have always given us kids everything we need/want. This time they get to spoil themselves. I love you guys! xoxoxo

Craft Time

I want to have a craft night after Thanksgiving and after finals. My mom and I bought a bunch of random tiles when I was in HS. We always said we were going to use them for crafts but never did. For Christmas I want to make a few mosiacs for Christmas presents. I was thinking I would try and get some ladies to participate with me. We could all chip in for supplies and make a fun night out of it. Our hubby's, boyfriends, and 'lovers' could play video games while we craft. Who would want to participate? If your really serious about this we can figure out how much we would all need to pitch in. It would be a cheap project and it would look amazing when we were done.

wood plaque (I want to make one for a head board, may take more than one evening)
night stands

Bare Minerals

After months of debating, I finally bought Bare Minerals. It just came today! I already ripped the box open, watched the 'How To' video and have it on! I love it! I look so different but I can't feel it at all!

Coyote's

Coyotes are extremely loyal to their mates. With this election comes rage and confusion or excitement and hope for some of us. Not one of us think the same so I would like to hear what you have to say about the new president. I need some enlightenment on the subject and I feel this is a great way to get it.

5 Finger Discount

I saw someone stealing from the dollar store today. I was intrigued so I continued to watch and slyly followed their tracks. As they kept stealing I wondered how easy they made it look. I couldn't help but think about all the things they had stolen to this point in their life. Was this their first time? What kind of things do they have at home? A bunch of junk or do they have quality items? As I followed and pondered I didn't notice the police coming down the isle. Yep, that's right. My clepto friend was not as stealth as I thought. They were taken away and now their life will never be the same, all for a few dollar items at the neighborhood Honk's Dollar Store.

My choice not to steal was backed up today as I witnessed this act of stupidity.

Last night we played rock band with 2 awesome friends. We ate burgers, roasted mallows in the backyard, and rocked HARD. It was an overload of fun. One of my favorite songs on Rock Band 2 is Bon Jovi's Livin' On a Prayer. If you read the lyrics I posted you can probably apply it to yourself as well. Steven and I have come onto hard times before in our marriage (nothing alarming or scary but still hard). Things have been tight and stress levels have been high. When we get discouraged by life I remind Steven (and myself) that we can make anywhere home, that no matter what love endures all things. We have been so blessed during our marriage. We have had some amazing trials that have helped us grow into the awesome people we are now.

Anal Ease is a anal lubricant that has low doses of a numbing substance. Great product for those of you who are into that (wink, wink). Just so you know, nursing students are not shy and tend to talk about strange things on a daily basis in our normal every day conversations. During one of our random conversations one of the girls at school said that this is a great product for babies who are teething. In all honesty, I was actually amazed at the genius of this.

Sadly my enthusiasm for this inventive use of Anal Ease dwindled as I pondered more about the product. In order for her to try such a thing leads me to believe she may have had this Anal Ease already purchased and may have actually used it for its intended use before trying it out on her infants gums. WTF!?

Is that sanitary?


P.S. Due to my curiosity on the subject I admit that I researched the product. Here is what I found on it: Click here for description of product (don't worry it's not a porn site). Now my mind is swimming with the wonderment of it being cherry flavored.
