What Should I Do Here?

This is the area right next to my front door. What should I do with it. I am not a huge fan of the red rock. There is way too much of it. Yes that is a water feature. I don't know if it works at all but it will be interesting to see if it does this summer. This is an all shade area. We are north facing so it is all way shaded plus it is in a 'nook'. So what do you think? Any good ideas for shade loving plants? Garden gnomes?

I'm Ready For Warmth

I miss the sun, green grass, leafy tree's, and flowers. Summer please hurry. I miss you.

Cassy in the Raw

This is me in the morning.

No make-up (except the leftover mascara and eyeliner that didn't get washed off all the way), no perfume, dry elbows (can't see them but they are there), scrappy looking eyebrows, prickly underarms (again just take my word for it), greasy t-zone, bad breath (I brush, I promise), blemishes, grumpy disposition (I am not a morning person), random clothes that should be in the laundry bin...This is me in the morning and I am okay with it!



I pin back my bangs because they stick straight up, out, and sometimes are plastered to my face. Too bad I wasn't sporting my headband. Oh boy that is a sight to see!

Bedtime Plans

I have big plans for our new big bed. This is our FREE king sized bed that we just added to our casa. Awesome right? I love it! It is so much more comfortable than our old bed. Our bodies are thank us every morning for the new bed.

Things I still need:
-a black bedskirt
-more pillows
-funky fabric
-A headboard

I am going to make the pillows and maybe a duvet cover. I have some fabric for pillows but it doesn't hurt to go get more and get creative with it.


Do you have any suggestions for our bedroom?

New Bed- Continued

We pick up the bed tomorrow morning. We are trying find a cheap box spring and frame since the one it comes with will take a while to get 'Cassy Chic'. I bought sheets for the bed yesterday and now I just need to make a quick trip to Target and get a comforter. I am so excited to sleep on a bed that doesn't suck. :)

For Valentines Day a few of my girl friends from work decided to get each other gifts. I thought it would be fun to get them something to spice up their Valentines Day. So it may appear innocent from the outside but it's anything but innocent. :)

My Dark Day

Yesterday was my dark day. I tried my best to ignore it and push through. It didn't work well. Twice while at work I had to run to the bathroom to cry. The kind of cry where it feels like your insides are broken. The kind that makes you feel like happiness will never be achieved again. The kind that makes your heart feel like it will never be full again.

I still don't think the hole in my heart will ever get fixed but at least it is finally functional. Well, except on 2/5....

New Bed

Okay so Steven and I have the worst queen sized bed in the world. I bought it a few months before we were married so we wouldn't have squish on my old full bed. So we find a deal that said $145 any mattress in the paper/craigslist/KSL (I can't remember). I am sure you have seen the billboard along I-15 for them. The price may be intriguing but please don't do it. You will be so disappointed.

Our current bed has a huge dip in the middle that we get stuck in during the night. Not only that but one side of the mattress is soft while the other is lumpy and kinda hard. It sucks!

So we scored a free king sized bed from a friend of mine at work. It's outdated but I have some fun plans for it. The mattress has barely been used and honestly it can't be any worse than ours now. So here are the pictures my friend sent me of the beast.



I will be sanding it down and we will paint it dark. Either a dark varnish or a paint. Not sure yet. I haven't seen it in person yet. I will be taking a razor to the detail on the inside of the mirror as well. Oh and don't forget I will be changing the hardware on the drawers too!



Possibly a knob like this? I think these would look awesome with a dark wood.

I think this could be a fun project. I think it might even turn out decent. What do you think? Any ideas?
