Thrusday's Thoughts

american flag Pictures, Images and Photos

With this election comes rage and confusion or excitement and hope for some of us. Not one of us think the same so I would like to hear what you have to say about the new president. Feel free to tell your true feelings here. The only thing I ask is that you do this in a nice way (no rudeness please). I really do want to hear what you have to say. I need some enlightenment on the subject and I feel this is a great way to get it.

Thanks! I can't wait to hear from you all!

I guess that I will start your chain. I am a mix of thoughts and feelings about it all. I was not 100% pro Obama. Some of the plans and ideas, I feel, America is not ready for. (I could be wrong) I do know that what has been going on the past 8 years has not been good for America and we do need a change. It is for that reason I am feeling excitement that Obama may be the President that starts America in the turn around we need. There has been a lot of hateful things said on various social networks that have me worried about Obama's victory. Not so much worried about him, but America as a people. When I heard that Obama had won my first thought was "Wow! This is America!! Where we say 'All men are created equal' and we mean it, because here is a man that is of color, has a very mixed culture background, came from an nontraditional household(Raised by Grandma)and is elected president!" Yet, many people who I had thought to be open minded and kind were saying bigoted, and ignorant statements. Who ever is president (An ass or an elephant) we need to stand united. It is only when we fight from within that our constitution and rights are at risk. And as for all the people who say "I am moving to Canada" because Obama is pro universal health care, pro Same-Sex marriages, and supposedly wants to raise taxes. I will let you in on a secret .... Canada is already set up that way. Save gas and stay here. (Sorry Cassie, I know that was rude to say, but it has been building up in me.)
Overall I feel that we NEED to stand united as Americans.

I do not want to move to Canada so no worries. Now Australia on the other hand....;)

Thanks for your thoughts. It's good to hear someone else voice their thoughts. I really wanted to hear what people were feeling in a non-argumentative way.

Thanks dude.

No problem,
Thanks for asking what we thought. It was a very tough election, and I had to spend countless hours researching everything... and thinking about it.

I was strongly opposed tp Barack Obama. I was also opposed to a McCain presidency. There was no true conservative to vote for or one who would uphold in my mind, the Constitution of The United States, within the two major parties. Now that Barack Obama has been elected I will support him as far as my own principles will allow. He is my president. I wish him safety success and enlightenment. I will oppose any idea or action that is against my principles through the proper channels and I will cheer for him when he succeeds. Hoorah for our Nation and for our republic style democracy. God bless America!
